Cats in the Hall. And Dogs.

Napster is deeply honoured to have two of his prints hanging in the waiting room of the Muskoka Animal Hospital.  He is also very grateful to the staff and Dr. Earl for taking care of his dental emergency earlier this year, allowing him to return to his sunbeam on the back of the couch completely pain free and comfy.

His pictures keep watch over a busy roomful of dogs and cats.

He was also thrilled to be featured in their recent Client Newsletter.

The featured painting is titled -- depending on which way you turn it -- Running Wolf... or, Bluebirds at Dawn.   It hangs currently in a vet clinic in Maui, Hawaii, and with fine art collectors everywhere.

Napster's prints and cards make truly wonderful Christmas gifts for any vet or cat lover on your list.  He just wanted me to mention that...

Yummies in a Jar, Napsters on a Wall

We were a bit behind the curve on this one -- we didn't get the notice that there was a fundraiser for the Animal Shelter for Hunstville AND the Muskoka Animal Shelter until Saturday.  The event was on Sunday, at John Murden's Art Gallery and Lynn Murden's Yummies in a Jar studio, near Baysville.

It was a bit of a scramble, but we got there, with a framed print for the Silent Auction. The place was jam-packed (if we can use that phrase about a place famous for its jams and jellies!)  Along with John's lovely artwork, there are several other artists, carvers, artisans who display work in the gallery, and along with THAT was an extensive collection of food items on offer from Savour Muskoka.   There is a long post about all of THAT on the Bondi Resort Blog.

The day was a great success, raising over $2100 for the Animal Shelters. Napster's print, Cardinals, went to Chef Randy of Spencer's Tall Trees. That's one of our favourite restaurants, so we were pleased.  Napster has expressed a wish that next trip there, we bring home a 'doggy bag for the kitty.'

In time for Christmas

Napster has received word from Eyes on Animals that they now have their Christmas cards at the printers (and translated into both Dutch and German!)

Based in Amsterdam, this group is an independent animal-welfare inspection organization with headquarters in The Netherlands. Eyes on Animals was created in 2009 to fulfill the urgent need of overseeing that current European animal-protection legislation is being put into practice.  Volunteer investigators  are regularly in the field conducting inspections and watching out for animal welfare problems. They work primarily in the Benelux, but also go to other countries where they could be of help.

Earlier this year, the Charity asked if they might have one of Napster's art prints to sell as a card. He was more than happy to oblige.  They chose Skaters, because of the obvious connection not only to the Christmas season, but also to the famous Dutch canals and skaters.

These cards will be available for sale through their on-line 'store' as soon as they come back from the printers, which should be any day now.

Napster also has packs of assorted cards right here at home, four for $10;eight for $20 (plus postage) that make great stocking stuffers and gifts. Anyone who loves cats loves Napster's cards, and all proceeds go to worthy charities.  You can contact Napster through his Blog to make orders.

Happy Holidays!
