A Napster on the Wrist

Napster proudly unveils a new "line" of artwork items.

Joining his popular note-cards, and coveted prints (both framed and unframed)  he now offers a Bracelet.

The wide band features his portrait, and one of his prints.

Now you can have your Napster art and wear it too!

$40, plus shipping, will put a Napster on your wrist.  Be the first in your circle to sport this wearable art, and help support his circle of charities!  Last year Napster raised enough money to pay for an entire month of care for the Birds at A Wing and a Prayer, and also placed almost $1000 into the coffers of the Huntsville Animal Shelter.

Rotarians Rule

Bruce asked last year if Napster would support the Peterborough Rotary Auction.

The Cat was delighted to participate, and his artwork was a hotly contested item. Paula, the successful bidder, later drove up to meet the artist and acquire more of his art for her collection.

So when Bruce asked if Napster was "in" again for this year, of course he was Purrfectly happy to say Yes.  Bruce dropped by yesterday to collect the print -- he had friends with him who were experiencing a Canadian winter. They had been snowmobiling and dog sledding -- and finished it off with a gallery visit to the World Famous Napster.

The auction takes place at the end of February.  The print for sale is CARDINALS, which is a big favourite. We are still of the opinion that this would look really good as a label on the Muskoka Lakes Winery Cranberry wine bottles... so if you agree, you might mention that to the MLW folk...

Dreaming of Napster Notes in Christmas Stockings

Orders have started to come in from those familiar with Napster's artwork for cards and prints (framed and unframed) for Christmas gifts, and the Cat is tired out from packing and mailing items!

His cards especially make wonderful "stocking stuffers" for the cat-lovers on your list.  Priced at 4 cards for $10 and 8 for $20.00 they are very affordable and unusual.

He took a little time out, packaged up in what my Mom would have called his "meatloaf" pose (because you can drop a cat into a meatloaf pan quite neatly when they are lying like this) to rest, his head full of sweet dreams...

See(chelt) Napster help The SPCA

Well, here's a thrill for the Cat!  Earlier this fall, Cindy was visiting from the Sunshine Coast. Her mom, Ginny, is a big Napster fan and a bonafide art collector.

Long story short, Cindy asked if it was possible to have a Napster print for the BC SPCA taking place at Sechelt on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Canada. Napster was more than happy to comply.  He has raised over $1000 for the Animal Shelter for Huntsville this year, through direct donations and sales of art at auctions.  Being born in a hayloft, he knows what it is like not to have a house and a family, and he feels that all the cats and kittens in our overcrowded shelters deserve loving and forever homes. He does what he can.

This week, we got an email from Cindy,

"On November 20 we held our second annual Pub Night Fundraiser at the Lighthouse Pub where we used the Napster Felinus Print in our silent auction! The piece ended up going for $75 to a woman named Virginia. I have attached a photo of her and her new print for your blog!

Thank you so very much for your donation of this print - it was a fantastic contribution to the event!"

Thanks for letting us know the outcome of the auction Cindy -- it was an honour to be able to participate!

Cats in the Hall. And Dogs.

Napster is deeply honoured to have two of his prints hanging in the waiting room of the Muskoka Animal Hospital.  He is also very grateful to the staff and Dr. Earl for taking care of his dental emergency earlier this year, allowing him to return to his sunbeam on the back of the couch completely pain free and comfy.

His pictures keep watch over a busy roomful of dogs and cats.

He was also thrilled to be featured in their recent Client Newsletter.

The featured painting is titled -- depending on which way you turn it -- Running Wolf... or, Bluebirds at Dawn.   It hangs currently in a vet clinic in Maui, Hawaii, and with fine art collectors everywhere.

Napster's prints and cards make truly wonderful Christmas gifts for any vet or cat lover on your list.  He just wanted me to mention that...

Yummies in a Jar, Napsters on a Wall

We were a bit behind the curve on this one -- we didn't get the notice that there was a fundraiser for the Animal Shelter for Hunstville AND the Muskoka Animal Shelter until Saturday.  The event was on Sunday, at John Murden's Art Gallery and Lynn Murden's Yummies in a Jar studio, near Baysville.

It was a bit of a scramble, but we got there, with a framed print for the Silent Auction. The place was jam-packed (if we can use that phrase about a place famous for its jams and jellies!)  Along with John's lovely artwork, there are several other artists, carvers, artisans who display work in the gallery, and along with THAT was an extensive collection of food items on offer from Savour Muskoka.   There is a long post about all of THAT on the Bondi Resort Blog.

The day was a great success, raising over $2100 for the Animal Shelters. Napster's print, Cardinals, went to Chef Randy of Spencer's Tall Trees. That's one of our favourite restaurants, so we were pleased.  Napster has expressed a wish that next trip there, we bring home a 'doggy bag for the kitty.'

In time for Christmas

Napster has received word from Eyes on Animals that they now have their Christmas cards at the printers (and translated into both Dutch and German!)

Based in Amsterdam, this group is an independent animal-welfare inspection organization with headquarters in The Netherlands. Eyes on Animals was created in 2009 to fulfill the urgent need of overseeing that current European animal-protection legislation is being put into practice.  Volunteer investigators  are regularly in the field conducting inspections and watching out for animal welfare problems. They work primarily in the Benelux, but also go to other countries where they could be of help.

Earlier this year, the Charity asked if they might have one of Napster's art prints to sell as a card. He was more than happy to oblige.  They chose Skaters, because of the obvious connection not only to the Christmas season, but also to the famous Dutch canals and skaters.

These cards will be available for sale through their on-line 'store' as soon as they come back from the printers, which should be any day now.

Napster also has packs of assorted cards right here at home, four for $10;eight for $20 (plus postage) that make great stocking stuffers and gifts. Anyone who loves cats loves Napster's cards, and all proceeds go to worthy charities.  You can contact Napster through his Blog to make orders.

Happy Holidays!
